Texprocil, the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council of India, is extending its presence at the trade fair

A summer season bursting with discoveries

The next Texworld trade fair, to be held from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 February 2015, is experiencing an exceptional rate of registration.  Exhibitors from the main textile manufacturing countries - China, India, Turkey and Pakistan - are underlining their interest in the European market, which, with the USA, represents the strongest demand.

"We are delighted with this excellent performance.  The situation in the textile and fashion industry is more favourable and is encouraging weavers to attend Texworld Paris.  Our selection committee is very happy with the large number of applications received, with proposals of higher and higher quality", declares Michael Scherpe, CEO of Messe Frankfurt France.

Many companies across all sectors have confirmed their attendance since the end of the last fair in September. The event will be fully booked very soon, with the last confirmations now being issued and new companies chosen by the fair's selection committee.

Cotton is the material in most demand at Texworld. It represents an aspect of the fair which is undergoing constant development and which will welcome Texprocil, the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, with almost 35 exhibitors. This body is responsible for promoting Indian cotton producers, but it is also helping silk manufacturers, lacemakers and embroiderers to exhibit at Texworld.

Texprocil usually attends the winter event in September and is strengthening its initiatives to win a bigger share of the European market by attending the summer event next February. All the companies already export a good part of their output, primarily to Europe and the USA.

Indian cotton producers are recognised and appreciated by European buyers for the quality and variety of their range for men, women and children: eco-cotton, the Better Cotton Initiative, printed cotton, cotton voile, denim, and cotton fabrics for shirting and bottom pieces.

With output estimated at 6.74 million tonnes*, India, currently the world's second-largest producer of cotton, will overtake China and take first place next year, according to the Cotton Association of India.

A summer event bursting with discoveries

Young international designers will be there next February!

In particular, Texworld will host the Frankfurt Style Award. This competition, well established in German-speaking countries, has been promoting young designers since 2007. The support of players from the textile and fashion industries, among them S. Oliver, companies such as Fraport, and the media, has given it an international profile.

Sharp, eclectic, contemporary, responsible style by university and international fashion and design school graduates.

While we wait for this event, we invite you to (re)view the fashion shows which were a highlight of last September's fair.
