Jeanologia unveils solution to remove coronavirus from garments

Jeanologia, the renowned finishing technology from Spain, unveils Sanibox, a sanitising chamber for sanitising the garments and footwear.

The certified technology was originally developed for face masks during the peak of pandemic in Spain and delivers 98 per cent sanitisation level.

The Sanibox technology uses a combination of ozone technology with humidity control that results in quick elimination of bacteria and viruses. The innovation is a result of customer demand for a safe shopping environment.

“Consumers will not buy again if they do not feel safe. Therefore, we must unite all the parties involved in the industry to protect workers and consumers throughout the different stages of the production process by using sanitisation,” said Enrique Silla, Founder, Jeanologia.

The development is certified by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and is in compliance with AFNOR NFT 72-281 – a standard method for verifying the effectiveness of airborne surface disinfection system.

The application of the novelty is throughout the supply chain including sanitising staff uniform before use, sanitising garments at distribution centres and the garments that are returned and tried on.

Without the technology, the garments need to be placed in quarantine for 72 hours or washing it at 140 degree Fahrenheit. The technology is said to be effective against eliminating the coronavirus from textile and footwear. However, the company did not specify its effectiveness against COVID-19.
