On October 26, 2021, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Official Letter 2946/TLD-TC amending the subjects entitled to delay in paying trade union dues.
According to Resolution 126/NQ-CP dated October 8, 2021 amending Resolution 68/NQ-CP dated July 1, 2021, and Conclusion at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the General Confederation (according to Notice 455/TB-TLD dated October 26, 2021, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor amends the subjects entitled to delay in paying trade union dues.
Specifically, the subjects eligible for delay in payment of union dues are businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, leading to a reduction of 10% or more of their employees participating in social insurance compared to January 2021 (including employees stop working, suspend the performance of labor contracts, agree on unpaid leave).Previously, in Official Letter 2059/TLD dated May 28, 2021, the General Confederation agreed to allow production and business enterprises affected by the Covid-19 epidemic (enterprises with several employees participating in social insurance must temporarily resign from 50% of the total number of employees participating in compulsory social insurance or more).
Time: In the immediate future, delaying the payment of trade union fees to December 31, 2021.
Thus, with the new conditions (reducing from 10% of employees participating in social insurance or more), more businesses will be able to delay paying union dues until the end of 2021.
