Vitas Monthly Newsletter - Volume 5/2025

May drew to a close against a backdrop of continuing challenges for Vietnam’s textile and apparel industry: lackluster global demand recovery, geopolitical tensions in certain regions, unpredictable world-economic fluctuations, and mounting pressure on enterprises to pursue green transformation. Yet, despite these headwinds, many companies have managed to maintain steady production rhythms, incrementally refine their processes, adopt more sustainable practices, and expand into niche markets in search of growth opportunities. In the first five months of 2025, the industry’s export turnover reached USD 17.58 billion—a 9 percent increase over the same period in 2024—while imports totaled USD 10.63 billion, up 4.7 percent. As a result, the sector achieved a trade surplus of USD 6.95 billion. VITAS Textile News No. 05/2025 brings you the very latest updates on both domestic and international market developments, plus details of new policies designed to support enterprises—partnering with the textile community on its journey toward sustainable growth.
