Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition 2026 opens on 25 August at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), bringing together more than 3,500 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions across 240,000 sqm. Running through 27 August, the three-day fair is organised around four pillars covering fashion trends, performance textiles, sustainability and digital innovation, and welcomes nine international buyer delegations, one of them from Vietnam.
The Autumn Edition serves as a full value-chain sourcing platform, giving buyers access to new products, market directions and business opportunities from yarn through to finished fabrics and accessories.
"As global supply chains continue to evolve, the apparel textile industry is seeking solutions that combine creativity, functionality, sustainability, and efficiency," said Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. She noted that the four pillars, namely Fashion Forward, Performance Textiles, Sustainability and Textile Future, are designed to connect buyers with trend-led, high-performance, circular and digitally enabled suppliers.
International participation remains central to the event, with country and region pavilions from Hong Kong, India, Italy (Italian Trade Agency/Milano Unica), Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Türkiye, alongside a dedicated France Zone. New exhibiting origins this edition include Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden and Thailand, widening the sourcing map for visitors.
Performance textiles take a larger role through the upgraded Functional Lab, built around a display area called The CUBE. The zone gathers innovations in thermal regulation, moisture management, comfort and protection, responding to rising demand for materials that pair technical function with sustainability. Group pavilions from established fibre and yarn suppliers further deepen the performance offer.
The remaining pillars are represented across the show floor and the fringe programme. Under Fashion Forward, the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum presents the A/W 2027-28 theme, while the Sustainability pillar centres on the Econogy Hub, where buyers can identify verified sustainable suppliers. Textile Future is showcased through the Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone, featuring digital product development and AI-powered tools.
For business exchange, the fair's matching programme connects exhibitors with around 50 VIP buyers from 14 countries and regions, supported by roughly 330 pre-scheduled meetings. Nine international buyer delegations totalling about 180 delegates will also attend, drawn from markets including Bangladesh, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Türkiye and Vietnam.
The Autumn Edition runs alongside Yarn Expo Autumn, CHIC and PH Value, placing the full apparel textile value chain under one roof. For Vietnamese textile and apparel businesses tracking sourcing trends and tightening sustainability requirements, the fair offers a timely read on where global demand is heading, ahead of the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies, set for 24–26 February 2027 in Ho Chi Minh City. The next Spring Edition of Intertextile Shanghai will follow on 10–12 March 2027.
