Following the reports and recommendations of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the textile and garment industry, please kindly be submited to Esteemed Ministries, GDVC and SBV VITAS summary of recommendations in phase 1, identifying and evaluating the pandemic progress and impact on the textile and garment industry in phase 2.

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has been effected since December 30, 2018 and in 2019 it is expected to be the second year of the tax reduction progress. And follow this CPTPP, there are some potential markets for textiles industry such as: Australia, Canada, Chile, Mexico and New Zealand.

General meeting 2018 – Position assertion – sustainable development
In 14th December 2018, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Assosiation (Vitas) hold VITAS General Meeting 2018 – Position assertion – sustainable development in Flamingo Dai Lai, Vinh Phuc Province to evaluate bussiness activities, situation of the world textile and garment industry in general and Vietnam in particular in the year of 2018, giving forecasts and plans for development of textile industry in 2019 and the outlook for 2020 – 2025.
EU is the second largest export market in the world with great potential for Vietnam's textile and apparel products, especially as the EVFTA trade agreement is soon coming into effect (expectedly in 2019), which would create a lot more opportunities for enterprises. However, in order to enjoy tariff preferences from this agreement, exporters should thoroughly understand and be able to apply self-certification of origin for their goods.
