Vietnam expects benefits from the new CPTPP trade agreement
Vietnam expects benefits from the new free trade agreement, the CPTPP (the TPP, now without the US) though lower than it would have been with the TPP with the US, according to analysts. However, the textile and garment, will still receive huge benefits from the CPTPP because the commitments on opening markets made in the old TPP have not changed.

11 nations sign CPTPP trade pact in Santiago
Eleven countries signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) without the United States last week in Chile’s capital Santiago.
In the framework of the partnership project between IDH and its partners, MOIT, MOLISA, MONRE, VITAS, VCOSA and LEFASO, IDH held the second PPP meeting - "Race to the Top" program on Dec 12, 2017 in Room B205 of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT).
Textile Machinery Association of Sweden is ready to weave success and growth in Vietnam

The Textile Machinery Association of Sweden, TMAS, is a Swedish contribution to the global textile industry. PetroVietnam, Vinatex discuss reviving PVTEX plant
Discussions are under way between PetroVietnam and textile and clothing conglomerate Vinatex, both state-owned, for a possible resumption of operations at the Dinh Vu Polyester Fibre Plant (PVTEX).
Vietnam’s National Wage Council has announced that the regional minimum wage may rise by 6.5 per cent in 2018 to VND180,000-230,000 ($8-10) a month following a consensus reached between employer and labour representatives. The rate will be submitted to the government for approval. Minimum wage in the nation is determined regionally and on a per month basis.
The Vietnamese textile and apparel industry attracted more than $750 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first six months of 2017, mostly from investment capital increases in existing projects, despite a reduced number of FDI projects in recent years and the US withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) last January.
