The Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (VITAS) and Mexico's National Chamber of Textile Industry (Canaintex) expect the value of Vietnamese exports to Mexico to double in 3-4 years after the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is implemented.
The Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (VITAS) has urged the government to prepare a development strategy to 2025 with a vision towards 2040, as the present plan has become obsolete. The association has also asked the government to group textile and garment enterprises in concentrated industrial parks to attract domestic and foreign capital.

Votiva (Vietnam), Microsoft (US) and Porini (Italy) have invited the Vietnamese textile and garment industry to join them to a dedicated event taking place today at the Lotte Legend Hotel Saigon.
At the two VDMA conferences, themed 'German Technology meets Vietnamese Textiles' held in Vietnam in Hanoi and HCM City on July 5 and 7, respectively, about 600 decision makers and experts attended.
The impact of anti-odor clothing on the environment
Anti-odor athletic clothes containing silver nanoparticles have gained a foothold among exercise buffs, but questions have arisen over how safe and effective they are. Now scientists report that silver nanoparticles and coatings do wash off of commercially available garments in the laundry but at negligible levels. They also found that even low concentrations of silver on clothing kept microbes at bay.
VDMA: German Technology meets Vietnamese Textiles
The events are organised by the VDMA Textile Machinery Association and supported by Vietnam Textile & Apparel Association (VITAS), China Textile & Apparel (CTA, Adsale) and Becker Travel Co. Ltd. Vietnam. Industry experts from 22 VDMA member companies will present practice-oriented technology topics covering the following sectors: Spinning, knitting and weaving, nonwovens, dyeing and finishing.
Garment, textile exports expected to grow 11.5pct a year to 2020
