The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol has been approved as a standard for sustainable cotton by Siegelklarheit, an initiative of the German Federal Government. By helping consumers to better understand environmental and social labels, Siegelklarheit wants to contribute to more sustainable purchasing decisions. U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol successfully passed Siegelklarheit´s assessment system. As a result, members of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (PST) can use the Trust Protocol as another standard to calculate their share of sustainable cotton.
From August 1, product-specific rules under the VKFTA Agreement will apply
Item Specific Rules (HS version 2017) under the Chapter on Rules of Origin in the Vietnam-Korea Bilateral Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA) will be applied from August 1, 2022.

EU's exports of textiles, clothing articles went up by 10.6% in 2021
In 2021, EU exports of textile and clothing articles increased by 10.6 per cent, while imports dipped by 7.5 per cent, as per the EURATEX spring report which offers a detailed insight into trade figures for the European textile and apparel industry in 2021. The numbers of 2021 are encouraging, when compared with the dramatic corona-year 2020.
More than 160 participants attended the seminar on Sustainable production for Vietnam's textile and garment supply chain in Ho Chi Minh City
On May 13, 2022, at Landmark 81 building, Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) jointly organized a seminar with the theme: "Sustainable production for the textile supply chain". India is also trying to get tariff access in the markets of the European Union (EU), Canada, the UK and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. (GCC). India is negotiating free trade agreements with these countries.
