Issue 02 - 5/2021

Facing the challenges from the 4th wave of Covid-19, VITAS would like all textile businesses all over the country to gather and stand as one, to better influence the government and related agencies, to support each other, and help the industry to recover faster and grow sustainably.

2021 is the second year the world is fighting Covid-19. When problems and challenges in healthcare, economies stagger, the success in vaccines brings hope to humankind. However, with the vaccines in place, our concern is the speed and priority of vaccination, and how this could be best to support the recovery of the world economy.

Vietnam Textile Industry is second in export volume with a large workforce, making it one of the main driving forces of the country’s development that need to be recovered at the earliest for the best of our healthcare and our economy.

On May 17th, on behalf of 3 Million textile workforce all over the country, with many factories in the urgent Northern areas, Mr. Vu Duc Giang, President of Vietnam Textile Industry Association, has sent official correspondence to the Prime Minister office and the Ministry of Health, requesting for support in purchasing & performing vaccination in these heavily affected areas so that the Industry and its labor could avoid being hit badly.

Besides, VITAS President Mr. Vu Duc Giang shares that the greatest challenge a CEO or a leader faces today is how to remain competitive and thrive amid constant change and disruption.

The COVID-19 pandemic has cast a long shadow and created uncertainty over the global economy. The signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), however, offers a beacon of hope, as it is unprecedented in scale, scope, and potential impact, both in the Asia Pacific and globally.

The 2nd issue of Sustainable Textile Solutions Magazine with articles on environmental law, raw material market assessment and highlights from RCEP will help businesses to carry out the "dual tasks" of fighting the epidemic and sustainable economic development.
