Time: 8:30 – 15:00, Tuesday, 22nd Jan 2019

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Vietnam textile and garment industry is developing rapidly to become the world's production plants, contributing to improve the lives of Vietnamese people. On the other hand with the development, the environment problem becomes more urgent than ever. In the production and transportation process, we use a lot of energy, that will generate waste water, exhaust fumes, etc., causing great pressure on the environment on earth such as water, air and soil pollution.

If we go on exploiting resources without protecting the environment, the production cannot be sustainable. Therefore, the future of the textile and garment industry needs to be ensured in a cost-effective manner to minimize environmental pollution. Only companies that meet the requirements of manufacturing with innovation and technology together with environmental protection can develop sustainably.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), identified by the United Nations (UN), also indicates the importance of action to cope with climate change and environmental protection. It’s extremely necessary to meet the needs of society in order for the textile and garment industry to develop sustainably.

For the above reasons, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) co-organizes with Team E-Kansai – Japan the seminar focusing on introducing environmental technologies, especially regarding waste water treatment in textile and dyeing, and introducing the experiences of Vietnam and Japan to contribute to resolve conflicts between two matters "Economic development" and "Environmental protection".

Introduction of Team E-Kansai: [Kansai - Asia Forum for Promoting Business in Environment and Energy Savings: is an organization to develop cooperation relations between the Kansai region (Japan's second largest economy including major cities such as Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe) and Asian countries in environmental technology. Team E-Kansai is funded and supported by the Ministry of Economic and Industrial in Kansai, of which there are about 180 enterprises and 30 agencies.
