Taiwan Textile Industry builds PPE Supply Chain at short notice

Taiwan textile industry has accumulated experience and technology that allows Taiwan government to form a national epidemic prevention team in the fight against COVID-19 at such short notice. Several Taiwanese textile companies have been modifying their production lines and ramping up output to help meet the rising demand for surgical masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Vietnam’s ministry of industry and trade (MOIT) is planning to increase the number of training courses on trade remedies for domestic players in key sectors like textiles, steel, wood, seafood, chemicals, and support industries. 

Vietnam’s textile and apparel export turnover in 2020 is expected to reduce by a fifth compared to 2019 figures, according to the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), which feels the demand will recover from the third quarter. Basic and cheap products will recover first and make up the main sales proportion in the third and fourth quarter of 2020.
