As of April 15, the Ministry of Health has issued vaccine passports to 500,000 people in 200 vaccination facilities.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung - deputy director of the Health Data Center, Department of Information Technology (Ministry of Health) - said that by the evening of April 15, the Ministry of Health had deployed to vaccine screening for people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to Mr. Hung, the Ministry of Health has conducted training and guided vaccination facilities to digitally sign to issue vaccine passports. Up to now, 200 vaccination facilities have deployed digital signature, the Ministry of Health has signed digitally and issued vaccine passports to about 500,000 people.
"The issue of vaccine passports to people up to this point has been carried out as planned. Units are continuing to coordinate to clean data, vaccination facilities continue to digitally sign to provide vaccines passports for people," said Mr. Hung.
Vietnam's electronic vaccine passport uses standards issued by WHO and EU, currently being used in 62 countries and will be used by more countries in the near future.
As of April 7, Vietnam has reached an agreement on mutual recognition of vaccine passports with 19 countries, including Japan, US, UK, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, the Philippines, Palestine, the Maldives, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Turkey, Singapore, Saint Lucia, South Korea, Iran and Malaysia.
