EU is the second largest export market in the world with great potential for Vietnam's textile and apparel products, especially as the EVFTA trade agreement is soon coming into effect (expectedly in 2019), which would create a lot more opportunities for enterprises. However, in order to enjoy tariff preferences from this agreement, exporters should thoroughly understand and be able to apply self-certification of origin for their goods.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued on October 30th, 2018 the Circular No. 38/2018 / TT-BCT regulating "Applying the certificate of origin under the preferential tariff regime, specifically Generalized system of preferences (GSP), of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey”.
In a joint effort to make businesses well aware of the regulations of this Circular, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and Nguyen Tat Thanh University jointly organize the workshop:
"Training course on self-certification of origin of goods Under the Generalized System of Preferences"
1. Course availability & time: Course is available on November 21-22, 2018
2. Duration: The course is scheduled for 1 full day, covering the 2 main contents as in the attachments;
3. Location: Room A803, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, 300A Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ward.13, Dist. 4, Ho Chi Minh City
4. Tuition: VND 2,000,000 per head
For VITAS members: VND 1,500,000 per head
(also covering fees for Course material, Certificate, Tea-break,
excluding lunch)
5. Training program and Lectures:
Training program: Please refer to the attachments.
Lecturers in charge: invited experts from the Import-Export Department, the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
6. Training methods and contents: providing core information in combination with practical exercises with case studies, which help reinforce knowledge of rules on origin of goods and self-certification of origin under the preferential tax regime of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.
Learners are kindly requested to bring along their PCs for hand-on training on declaration / registration on the EU system provided right within the course.
7. Eligible learners under regulations and requirements of the program will be issued with certificates of completion of the training course on self-certification of origin of goods under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP)
